Pre Primary

The Pre-Primary School Program at KGS comprises of Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Lower and Upper Kindergarten (LKG and UKG). Early childhood education serves as the foundation for all future learning. It is the period of learning to learn. In the Kindergarten or Pre-Primary groups, the prime focus of our curriculum now revolves around the emergent strategies of the early years and the purposeful acquisition and understanding of content, skills and concepts in literacy, numeracy and knowledge and understanding of the world. Our curriculum focuses on the developmental milestones in the areas of cognitive, linguistic, creative, social and physical development. This learning design leads a child to inquire and seek answers or to find answers on her own. Questions become the order of the day making thinking and creativity to be the norm. It seeks to give a complete experience to the child within the child’s range of experiences and understanding. This approach goes a long way towards shaping a wholesome and healthy personality and gets the child prepared for the primary program.

Our Kindergarten curriculum nurtures and supports children’s interest, curiosity and their natural quest for knowledge; leading to developing skills of problem solving, inquiry, investigation, discovery and active hands-on explorations. In our kindergarten curriculum, even though learning is based on play and exploration, it is very well structured and integrated across multiple disciplines of language, math, science, writing and technology. This is done to meet expectations for holistic goals, development of life skills, dispositions and attitudes, as well as academic achievements.
